I didn't come to this from a blockchain background. For over nine years I worked in enterprise IT and network support, handling access and infrastructure for corporate clients. That work put me on the inside of something most people never see directly: how casually organizations handle the systems that hold other people's data.
Then came the Google Password Manager breach. It wasn't the first incident I'd followed — for the past four years, data breach headlines have arrived at a pace that stopped feeling like news and started feeling like a pattern. But that one was the moment it stopped being background noise. People don't actually control their own data — they hand it to a platform and hope. That felt backwards. Data should be something you control and are responsible for, not something you entrust and hope survives.
I'd spent late 2023 teaching myself cloud infrastructure — VMware, GCP, Docker, Azure. In hindsight, that was me building the runway for this without knowing it yet.
